LOCATION: Albany, NY – Onsite
Selected candidates will function in a role supporting User Acceptance Testing for the NYWIC Management Information System. NYWIC is a State-hosted, vendor-supported web application that is used to deliver nutritional benefits to New York’s women, infants, and children in need; also used for vendor management, investigation case management, research, and reporting to USDA.
Qualifications
- Tester – Conducts automated and manual tests to ensure that the software created/upgraded performs as necessary and meets the user requirements. Develops and maintains user and technical documentation and project process documentation for application teams. Understands the view of applications and/or technology and is able to put procedures in a logical sequence.
- Expert 84+ months: Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.
- 84 months of experience working with project/program staff to create testing strategies for web applications.
- 84 months of experience working directly with business analysts, program subject matter experts, and technical staff, to define test scenarios.
- 84 months of experience creating detailed functional test cases based on use cases, software specifications, and/or design documents.
- 60 months of experience creating repeatable test cases for use in manual regression testing.
- 60 months of experience executing test cases and creating and monitoring defects.
- 60 months of experience supporting or participating in User Acceptance Testing efforts.
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Information Technology related field, from an accredited institution.
Day-to-Day tasks
- Assist Program staff with defining a regression testing strategy for user acceptance testing of the application.
- Work with Program staff to define regression test scenarios.
- Using the test case templates provided, create a test case for each test scenario with clearly defined test steps, test data requirements, and expected results.
- Review test cases created by other staff.
- Create test data.
- Provide support as requested for user acceptance test execution, including analysis and validation of testing defects.
- Work closely with ITS and Program managers to ensure adherence to standard policies and procedures
