Job Description
Civil Engineer II
As part of temporary staffing services ezelogs.com a construction management software is requesting resumes for Civil Engineer II with the following requirements.
Qualifications
Baccalaureate Degree in Civil Engineering; a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering will be accepted as equivalent to one year of full-time experience
Experience
At least 6 years of related practical experience in the field of Civil/Structural Engineering; at least 1 year out of the last three as a major contributor or project lead on a complex project.
Licensing Requirements: A valid New York State Professional Engineer’s license is required
Skills
- Familiarity with design, construction, and construction methods;
- Knowledge of Personal Computer applications related to design and construction management, and project
- Knowledge of Civil Engineering standards and practices
- Knowledge of CADD;
- Familiarity with rail/transit operations and practices, and mass transit facilities;
- Strong written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills;
Responsibilities
Under supervision, the selected candidate will be responsible to prepare scopes of work, Design build Project Requirements and Design Criteria documents (PRDC), structural design contract drawings and specifications. Review construction shop drawings, and submittals. Perform structural field inspections and surveys for engineering work in connection with ascertaining the physical condition and material properties of existing Agency infrastructure. Supervise civil/ structural engineers assigned to the candidate to perform similar work on a project. Coordinate and communicate work with other disciplines. Multiple assignments may progress simultaneously. Assignments will focus on various right-of-way structures, and facilities within the planned limits of capital repair, renewal, and/or replacement projects. Supervise junior engineers assigned to the candidate. Multiple assignments may progress simultaneously.
