Oil Burner Technician

Looking for ” Oil Burner Specialist ” to perform the following responsibilities

  • Under supervision, repairs and maintains oil burners and their control systems located in City facilities; performs related work. Examples of typical tasks include: cleans and changes nozzles, cups, atomizers and related components; cleans strainers, oil filters, burner fans and all handling components, flame scanner lenses, and protective lenses; inspects refractory gages and controls; inspects, adjusts, and replaces drive belts and associated components on all blowers, pumps, and related equipment; inspects, adjusts, and cleans and replaces ignition assemblies; tests, adjusts and replaces safety controls and relief valves; replaces vacuum tubes in electronic controls; rebuilds and overhauls oil burners; resets, calibrates and adjusts oil burners for maximum efficiency; operates a motor vehicle to travel to assigned sites and carry out assigned tasks; may install oil burners and their control systems.
  • Must have a valid Oil Burning Equipment Installer, Class A
  • Must have a valid and clean driver’s license.
  • Must be able to provide transportation.

Experience:

Two years of full-time experience servicing all types of oil burners and related units and controls; or satisfactory completion of a course in basic commercial-industrial oil burner maintenance and one year of the full-time experience described above.
