Network Infrastructure Engineer-To work at client site or with their IT Team @ Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority- 3 to 5 Years.

Qualification & Responsibilities:

  • Advanced knowledge of network infrastructure hardware, network wiring (inside and outside plant copper and fiber optics), Physical Layer communications, wireless communications and use of network support best practices
  • Advanced knowledge of physical cable plant design and installation including both copper and fiber implementations
  • Experience with multi-datacenter network implementations and high availability implementations
  • Possessing Cisco switch/router programming and networking certifications such as Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Internetworking Engineer (CCIE), and/or Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP) certifications
  • Possessing Network design and project management experience of diverse networks with multi-vendor solutions
  • Knowledge of network encryption techniques for metropolitan and wide-area networks
  • Knowledge of Palo Alto Firewall implementation and support
  • Possessing experience in testing, troubleshooting, and configuring Cisco series routers, Cisco Catalyst and Nexus Switches
  • Expertise in Alcatel and/or Cisco VoIP phone systems
  • Expertise with Cradlepoint mobile routes
  • Advanced knowledge of wireless network design and support
  • Possessing advanced knowledge of network design, and the ability to create advanced addressing and routing, security, network management, data center, and IP multicast complex multi-layered enterprise architectures that include virtual private networking and wireless domains
  • Possessing the ability to analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end user training where required
  • Advanced monitoring and reporting capabilities

To handle agency scope of work-in IT/ Technical areas; including, but not limited to, network/infrastructure, desktop and hardware support, communications, application and middleware software and data. Note, the NFTA operational landscape refers to all operational divisions; Metro and Aviation, and enterprise functions/disciplines (i.e. Finance, Procurement, HR, etc.).

Expertise/ help to handle:

  • Network Architecture, Design and Installation Support
  • Installation and maintenance of copper and fiber network cabling
  • Palo Alto Firewall implementation and support
  • Installing, testing, troubleshooting, and configuring Cisco series routers, Cisco Catalyst and Nexus Switches
  • Cradlepoint router installation and support
  • Wireless network design and support
  • Network load-balancer design and support
  • Design, support, and maintenance services of Alcatel VoIP phone systems
  • Design, support, and maintenance services for Cisco VoIP phone systems
