Job Description
Heating Plant Technician
As part of temporary staffing services ezelogs.com a construction management software is requesting resumes for Heating Plant Technician with the following requirements.
Qualifications
- A Certificate of Fitness for Low Pressure Oil Boilers (P-99)
- Must have a valid and clean driver’s license.
- Must be able to provide transportation.
Experience
Six months of full-time satisfactory experience within the last ten years in the operation and maintenance of low and/or high pressure boilers and related equipment; or one year of satisfactory training acquired in an approved trade, technical or vocational high school, consisting of a course of study in the operation and maintenance of low and/or high pressure boilers which combines classroom and boiler room instruction; or satisfactory completion of the training course ʺFundamentals of Heating Plant Operationsʺ given by organizations approved by the agency.
Responsibilities
- Under supervision, operates heating and domestic hot-water boilers in a public housing project; performs related work. Examples of typical tasks include: stands watch and fires low pressure boilers with heavy fuel oil; maintains, adjusts, and makes minor repairs to boilers, industrial oil burners, heating and domestic hot water equipment and all auxiliaries; keeps logs and makes reports as required; when assigned to a roving team in the Operations area, responds to emergency dispatches and performs minor repairs of heating systems and related equipment to remedy the alarm conditions, especially those caused by abnormalities in steam and hot water; operates a motor vehicle to travel to assigned and emergency work locations and to transport needed equipment throughout the five boroughs; checks assigned vehicle to ensure that it is in proper operating condition and reports the need for routine servicing; completes equipment and activity reports.
