DURATION: 30 Months

LOCATION: Albany, NY – Onsite

This position will support the Public Safety Portfolio in the development and maintenance of business solutions on the SQL Server platform using SSRS and advanced excel reporting techniques. The person will be expected to develop data cubes for use in report development. The person will be expected to follow agency software lifecycle methodologies, create design documents, perform coding/debugging/testing develop.

Qualifications

  • IT Specialist – Works in the field of Information Technology, experienced in the usage and support of a collection of development platforms, technical architectures or business applications and products that run on those platforms – beyond that of a Programmer.
  • 84 months experience creating Views, Triggers, stored procedures, functions, and writing SQL on one or more relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server
  • 36 months experience with logical and physical data modelling and database design using Data Modelling Tools such as Erwin.
  • 84 months of report development experience using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (2014 or higher) and Microsoft Visual Studio(2014 or higher).
  • Expert – 84+ months: Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.
  • 60 months experience designing and developing ETL processes using Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (2014 or higher)

Day-to-Day tasks

  • Implement Integrated Justice Portal standards related to the reporting structure, including SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS.
  • Using report specifications/requirements, create reports using SQL Server Reporting Services using Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Perform ongoing support for production applications – including system monitoring, processing, user support
  • Design, develop, deploy BI solutions (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS)
  • Follow all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) – analysis, design, testing, implementation, maintenance
  • Follow and contribute to agency standards and utilize industry best practices
  • Develop queries and stored procedures for data extraction, using sql and one or more relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server; write complex efficient SQL
  • Research emerging technologies to improve current processes
  • Create a suite of reports allowing to dynamically group, sort, or filter information as needed; with automated delivery, exports to common formats; with user and role based security
